Product Overview
Oriented Strand Board (OSB for short) is made from 'oriented strands' (wood fibres and adhesives compressed in opposing orientation) to achieve an excellent load-bearing panel. Similar in performance to softwood plywood. OSB3 (also known as Sterling Board) is rated for structural applications unlike the OSB2 variations.
With a T&G profile, the boards slot together and produce a perfect fit with adjacent boards. This makes this board suited for load-bearing roofing, flooring, wall applications and ceilings.
OSB3 can be used for structural, load-bearing uses in humid conditions in housing applications. The boards are edge-coated with a proprietary water-resistant sealer to lessen the chances of edge swelling.
Thanks to the resin binders and wax involved in its manufacturing process, OSB3 sheet material is tolerant of both moisture and humidity. However, We do not recommend OSB3 for use in permanent outdoor exposure with out proper protection and covering.
